Estimates are illustrative and simplify earn rates (bonus categories like transit, streaming and drugstore are grouped into “everything else”). Your actual rewards depend on the card's current terms and how you redeem. Always verify with the issuer.
How the calculator works
We take your monthly spending in each category and apply every card's published earn rates, honouring annual caps on bonus categories. For points and miles cards, we convert earnings to their typical cash value so you can compare cash back and points fairly. We then subtract the annual fee to show your net annual value, and optionally add the first-year welcome bonus.
Rewards calculator FAQ
How does the rewards calculator work?
Enter your typical monthly spending on groceries, dining, gas, travel and everything else. We apply each card's real earn rates (honouring category caps), convert points and miles to their cash value, subtract the annual fee, and rank the cards by net annual value.
Does it include the welcome bonus?
Yes — you can toggle first-year welcome bonuses on or off. With them on, the ranking reflects first-year value; with them off, it reflects ongoing yearly value.
Are the results exact?
They're close estimates. We simplify some niche bonus categories and use typical point valuations, so your real-world value may differ slightly. Always confirm current terms with the issuer before applying.
